History
About the Artist
Red Poppy Gallery was founded and is owned
by Barbara Garstecki. Barbara Garstecki was born and raised in Poland.
She had a great passion for art from early childhood. She learned
her skills in a well respected Art Institute in Poland, PLSP in
Nowy Wisnicz, where five years of study gave her experience in every
possible art technique. She graduated with a mastery of oil paintings
and weaving. After several years of working with stained glass,
she decided to experiment with making mosaics from glass and ceramics.
The mosaics she creates are used as art for home décor, and she
has also created unique flower pots, vases, planters, and has even
had orders for backsplashes and garden items. She absolutely loves
what she is doing; art is her daily life and her greatest passion
after her love for her family. She lives in San Antonio, TX, with
her husband and four children.
About Red Poppy Gallery
Originally, the name of Barbara Garstecki's art business was
Basia's Art. She changed the name to Red Poppy Gallery in 2015.
Our Mission
Here at Red Poppy Gallery, we strive to produce
unique art of the highest quality. Each piece is originally
and carefully designed and handmade by Barbara, which means
that each piece you buy is really something special.
How It's Created
Mosaics
Barbara's mosaics are made of hand-cut glass,
tiles, ceramic, and a variety of other objects, which are all mounted
to wood. Each piece is professionally finished with grout in between
the glass. The wood is finished to a black color, and screws are
mounted to the back so the piece can easily be hung on the wall.
